This Privacy Policy explains what personal data BetterWOD Timer (the “App”: the iOS app, the Android app and the web timer at app.betterwod.com) and the website betterwod.com collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect and why

Using the App without an account

You can build and run workouts without signing in. Workouts and results are then stored only on your device and never sent to us.

Account (optional)

When you sign in with an e-mail magic link, Google or Apple we store:

  • your e-mail address and a user ID we generate,
  • for Google / Apple sign-in, the identifier and display name the provider returns.

Purpose: to log you in and to keep your data attached to you. Legal basis: performance of the contract (Terms of Service).

Workouts and results (Pro sync)

With a Pro subscription the App synchronises your workouts, results, round times and notes between your devices through our server. Purpose: the sync feature you asked for. Legal basis: performance of the contract. Notes are free text — please don’t put other people’s personal data in them.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold by our merchant of record Fungies (web) or through Apple App Store / Google Play (mobile). We receive confirmation that a subscription is active, its plan and validity period, and a transaction reference; we never see your card number. Purpose: to unlock Pro and to handle support and refunds. Legal basis: performance of the contract; legal obligation (accounting).

Advertising in the Free mobile apps

The Free tier of the iOS and Android apps shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google Ireland Ltd.). AdMob may process your advertising ID, IP address, device and app information and coarse location derived from IP. In the EU/UK you are asked for consent in-app via Google’s consent flow (UMP); if you decline, only non-personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice any time in the App’s settings or in your device’s ad settings. The web timer and Pro subscriptions show no ads and load no advertising SDK. Transactional e-mail

Magic links and Coach waitlist confirmations are sent through Resend (Resend, Inc.). Only your e-mail address and the message are shared with them.

Website analytics

betterwod.com uses Umami, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool. It records page views and button clicks with the page, referrer, browser type, country and a daily-rotating anonymous hash. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal data, so no consent banner is needed. “Do Not Track” is respected.

Coach waitlist

If you join the BetterWOD Coach waitlist we store your e-mail address, chosen language and the time of sign-up, only to tell you once when Coach launches. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw by replying to any of our e-mails.

Who else sees your data

Processors we use: hosting in the EU (Hetzner), Fungies (payments), Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases), Google AdMob (ads in Free mobile apps only), Resend (e-mail). We don’t sell personal data and don’t share it for other parties’ marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Account and synced data: until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days from live systems and within 90 days from backups.
  • Purchase records: 10 years, as Czech accounting law requires.
  • Waitlist e-mail: until Coach launches or you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics: aggregated, not tied to a person.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to . You can also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.cz).

Deleting your account

In the App: Settings → Account → Delete account. Or e-mail us from your account address — see delete your account for both paths and what is retained.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
